Definitive Consulting Group is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner Near Portland, OR

Please review the below info. If you are interested, please apply and I will set up an interview.

We have multiple types of locations: Clinic, NOMAD vehicles, weekend Physicals on Reservists, etc...

The schedule is one week on and one week off, (can be flexible). Can work more if you would like. All federal holidays are recognized. The country is split in 6 sections, and you will cover the section closet to your home, or more if you would like. There is a lot of available shifts. You will be paid 1099, $1000 a day (all days that you see patients)

We also have the opportunity to work at clinics in different states for the whole week. We also have Saturday clinics available to provide reservist physicals.

Since it is a Federal program one license covers all states. Collaborators are provided.

You will cover multiple states.

Is this in hospitals or long-term facilities? We will be working with the VA with both their Nomad vehicles (mobile clinics) and in non-VA clinic locations throughout the country. The locations will vary from week to week, but the idea is the locations will be more accessible than just the main VA locations. For example, instead of meeting with patients at the VA in Minneapolis we would be located in St. Cloud, MN which is 1 hour drive from Minneapolis. This makes the accessibility for patients more available to those patients who can't get to the large VA locations.

Is it C&P physicals? Yes, it is my understanding these physicals will be eligibility exams, so most likely C&P physicals.

I want to confirm 8 pts a day? If they fly on Monday, are they seeing pts the same day as well as Friday? The workday is a per diem with the expectation of working with 6-8 patients a day even on travel days but obviously Mondays and Fridays would be slightly different. I don't have a definitive answer on this question yet.

Is rental car covered? All reasonable expenses are covered, rental cars, mileage for personal car usage, airfare, tolls, etc. Everything is covered except meals. Basic economy is paid for.

How far in advance will they know their assignments? My expectation is the providers will know their schedule 1-2 weeks in advance but occasionally the VA will cancel with at least one weeks notice.

This is a permanent position, correct? This is a permanent position.

Do they need any certain certifications? I am not aware of any special certifications, and there State NP license will qualify them for working in other states without obtaining license for that state.

When will training start? Credentialing takes about 1-2 months. Expect to start within 2-3 months.

Yes we can hire PAs. Nurse Practitioner or higher.

Will I be along in the NOMAD vehicle? The clinicians will not be alone in the Nomad vehicle. There will be driver and a medical assistant in every vehicle.

Will the NP arrange their own travel/hotel? The nurses will arrange their own travel in the short term but I would prefer we set up a travel coordinator to handle these functions. The nurses will be paying for their own travel and will be reimbursed weekly for travel expenses. We might entertain an expense advance at the beginning of the program to assist with up front expenses.

The NPs would travel Sunday evening to meet up with the NOMAD unit if they do not live in proximity to where the NOMAD is based. They would not be compensated for Sunday evening travel. The NPs would work 1/2 to full day on Friday and travel back home Friday evening or Saturday. They would be compensated for a full day on Friday.

You might also cover a clinic in a rented space for the week, this is called a "Timeshare". With special training you might also cover a reserve weekend providing physicals these are Fridays and Saturdays.

Regarding the non-nomad locations (such as a non-VA clinic location in a small town) the visits per day would remain at 5-8 per day with similar travel schedules as the Nomads and similar compensation.

Please feel free to email any questions to ajayes@seniorcareservicesllc.com

I am a NP that was subcontracted to hire and staff the federal veteran program.
